About the Scottish Intensive Care Society
We’re a dynamic and friendly group of colleagues from many different disciplines, all caring for critically ill patients and their families.
The purpose of the Society has remained the same since it was founded in 1991, seeking to promote educational, research and audit activities.
Run by a Council of elected and co-opted members the Society is involved in many areas of critical care:
- Educational meetings and other learning opportunities
- Audit and quality improvement work
- Research and innovation
- Trainee matters
- Nursing & allied health professional issues
- Liaison with the Scottish Government Health Departments
- A conduit of information from other subspecialist groups via Council to members
