"improving intensive care in Scotland"

SICS Travel Grant

The aim of this grant is to support travel to study or experience critical care in an environment/location different from the individual's normal workplace. We have a single grant on offer up to a maximum value of £2000 to cover reasonable costs. Successful applicants will need to provide evidence of the cost of their trip to enable the appropriate funds to be released.

The successful applicant will be invited to present an account of their project at the following years’ ASM in January.

The grant is accessible to all SICS members of any profession and any grade.

Joining the Society at the time of application is acceptable.

The closing date for application is usually the end of March each year. Applications will be considered at the SICS Council meeting in the spring. The decision of the Council is final. Please note that with the current circumstances there will be no travel grant for 2020.

To apply: send a clear summary (maximum length - one page Word document) of your proposed project, anticipated costs and benefits accruing from the trip to the Honorary Secretary by email. Any other sources of funding or applications for funding must be declared and a letter of support from the institution to be visited is desirable. The marking scheme used to assess travel grant applications is available to read through the link at the bottom of this page.

Open to: all SICS members
